Maximise your walks - wear a weighted backpack 🎒💪🏼🥳 . . . Today was meant to be @donnamdownie ‘s last day with me here. Long story short, it’s wasn’t. Flights are cancelled, countries are in lockdown, and the world is a strange place right now. We’re ready to isolate together in Australia - and I couldn’t be happier to not be alone right now 💆🏻‍♀️☀️ . . . Having said that, we went for a long walk around a nature reserve today, and it was lovely. Peace and quiet, solitude, social distancing galore. . . . More of this in the next few weeks with my partner in crime 🤩🙌🏼 Bring on working from home, and getting each other through this 💪🏼

Me, yesterday: ‘May this trip never end!’ 🇦🇺☀️🤩 . . . Emirates, last night: ‘All flights cancelled. Immediately.’ . . . Boris, today: ‘Lockdown in the UK. Now.’ . . . Careful what you wish for 😬 . . . On the positive side: Managed to buy a pack of toilet paper last night. May temporarily be able to stop appropriating toilet paper from pubs and bars. Just as well, as they are all closed since yesterday too... . . . We had one last fun day trip yesterday to Rottnest Island. Cycled around the island, relaxed in the sun, kept a social distance to everyone. Tried to think about nothing but enjoying the day. It was brilliant - our favorite trip so far! 😎 . . . Hit by the reality today that there may now be two of us in Australia for an uncertain time period. So many things to think about and organise. . . . Client progress VS. COVID-19 feat. @lazhavanalifts 👏🏼 . . . Gym are closing, people are told to stay at home, food choices are limited... It’s the perfect time to find excuses and postpone your fitness goals, right?! . . . A big shout out goes to my client Lauren this week. We worked together for over a year now, and she’s put in an exceptional effort to stay on track, adapt and find solutions rather than excuses. . . . We are in touch every day to discuss everything from food, movement to mood during this trying time. Here are some things Lauren did to adapt, but yet respect restrictions in place due to COVID-19 that may help you too: . . . Lauren picked up a second hand treadmill. She uses it for cardio, steps, and works on it with her laptop from home. . . . Lauren checks the Puregym app for the amount of people in the gym, and lifts during off peak hours for example at 11pm, or very early in the morning. She also completes home workouts such as HIIT blasts, abs, stretching and foam rolling. . . . She keeps going out for walks in secluded areas to get fresh air, but to also restrict the contact she has with other people at the moment. . . . Lauren keeps eating a balanced and healthy diet with lots of vegetables, she doesn’t panic-buy copious amounts of highly processed foods, and tries to stay calm and mindful and she supports others that stress about the current virus situation. . . . Moral of the story: Be like Lauren. Find solutions, not excuses. Stay calm and realistic. . . . It IS possible to stay consistent right now. There is always something you can work on. Stay safe, but don’t undo all your hard earned progress with easy excuses 💪🏼 . . . However, arguably the best way to stay safe right now is to move to Australia. We almost feel guilty doing normal people things, outside 😕 . . . The other day was rainy, and we decided to head on a wine and chocolate tasting tour to the Swan Valley, which included a cruise back to Perth. . . . Although we are careful, things still seem comparatively normal over here. You can go to pubs, smaller gatherings aren’t cancelled, and there’s an acceptable amount of food in shops. So we think, while we have a chance, why not at least try to enjoy the normality... . . . Having said that, the wine and chocolate tasting was amazing, and we had such a fun day. Definitely needed a little break from all corona virus madness 🍷👌🏼 . . .

...the world’s most isolated city, and the best place to hide right now 🦠 🗺 😷 . . . It’s mental to hear what is happening in the world right now. My parents are locked down in Norway and I couldn’t go see them even if I wanted to, for the first time in my life. It’s definitely a scary thought! . . . Food shops at home are completely empty, and although Australia does have virus cases, the effects in Perth are compared with other places in the world yet minimal. . . . Everyone landing here with international flights is required to self isolate for two weeks, and I was even offered to defer my PhD for several months, was I still in the UK and hadn’t travelled to Australia at the start of March. . . . Luckily, at this point, the only shortage here is toilet roll. Genuinely thinking of everyone at home in Europe who is self-isolating, working from home, taking several hours to hunt down essential food items, and especially those whose business is affected by the virus outbreak. . . . Things over here are still relatively okay, and we are doing fine 🤗 Just wanted to put that out there, and thank you for asking 🥰

Second session in the new gym done ✅👌🏼 @donnamdownie @shreddedhp . . . As we are technically on holiday we are just training a whole body session every second day, trying out some new equipment, working on some old favourites, and the aim is to just enjoy ourselves in the gym for a few weeks 🥳 . . . It’s excellent to be able to give your body a longer rest, more sleep, and a big focus on a balanced diet and mental recovery is the goal 💆🏻‍♀️ . . . ‘Real life’ starts again in April, and I can’t wait to train at this gym every day. The equipment is out of this world, I have never seen a tidier and cleaner gym, and most importantly, the staff and members SPEAK, SMILE and are SO helpful and welcoming. New car picked up today - shout out to @donnamdownie for driving it better than me 🤣🙈 . . . I bought a new ‘used’ car last week. Long story short, I came to see one car, it was garbage, but bought another one - which was ace 🥳 . . . It had all services done for me earlier this week, got some minor mods that I asked for, and was ready for collection today 🚙👍🏻 . . . We had to travel North for an hour in my rental car, hero of the day @donnamdownie drove my new car back to the car rental without GPS, and I handed in my rental car. . . . Pretty stressful morning, and wouldn’t know how I would manage without her atm 🙈 Finished the day with some tanning, and a well deserved snooze in the sun, before planning more adventures for the weekend and next week 🤩 . . . I only have one video of my car this far as I really couldn’t be bothered today to take many photos, too busy. Footage shall follow eventually 🚙😎🇦🇺 . . . Had my first ocean swim this year and it was glorious ☀️ 🏊‍♀️ 🥳 . . . Explored penguin island after a road trip to Rockingham, and saw the wildlife up close with observing ‘little penguins’ on the island, sea lions at the beach, and mama dolphins with their babies in the open water 🏝 . . . One week ago today I boarded a plane in Glasgow in the freezing cold and it seems like a lifetime ago already 🤭 . . .
